wait a second mal….you and ultraleftist have an antagonistic relationship….i don’t think that’s his real picture.
That’s not true, I rely on Mal to tell me what to think about pretty much everything.
ladymaxwell replied to your post: at least Romney didn’t put genocidal armed gangs in control of Libyaare you really arguing for romney reallyjust until november 6
As he said the other day, he only posts things that will “piss off liberals”. In other words, he is engaging in the practice known as “trolling”. Like rage comics, “trolling” is an integral part of so-called “internet culture”, and through his “Tankies for Romney” posts, Mal ensures his place in history alongside the author of this masterpiece.
wow mal associating tony with bronies is a low blow even for you
the post where tony threatened to kill someone with his sniper training was first written after the makers of my little pony took derpy hooves out of the show
mal knows the names of minor recurring characters lmao. obvs a brony himself.

Something to welcome Mal back.
(12:45:29 AM) malheureuxmarxist: i turned on npr today and they have an entire hour dedicated to ted talks now
(12:45:35 AM) malheureuxmarxist: like talking about ted talks
“i turned on npr today” well there’s your problem.

Sorry to do this to all you faithful tankies. (Just let the record show that I did allow a decent mourning interval before posting.)
Mal’s favourite pony is Leon TROTsky. (Get it?)
![A t-shirt with an 'I Heart NY'-style slogan on it. In place of the 'heart' symbol is a tank, and the shirt reads, "I [tank] Prague".](http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8vdp519Gn1rridbb.jpg)
Another one for our departed comrade.
malheureuxmarxist:
Here’s some good in-depth analyses of the hungarian and czech attempts at destroying socialism. Both are written from a Trotskyist perspective (ie very critical of post-Lenin USSR) but they are pretty accurate and valuable analyses of the class character of the attempts at counter-revolution. They also show that you don’t have to be very pro-USSR to defend the gains of the Russian Revolution from capitalist reform.
Hungary: http://www.mediafire.com/?6ccs9dch2fthj19
Czechoslovakia: http://www.workers.org/marcy/cd/samczech/index.htm (the “Czech leaders open door to counter-revolution” section gets to the heart of it)
In the first world, most leftists definitely couldn’t be described as tankies, but in the periphery, it’s a different story.

why won’t malheureuxmarxist come back? :(
i mostly couldn’t understand things he posted, but i liked him on my dash
He put up a post at his Wordpress blog where he says:
I deleted my tumblr a couple days ago, I’ve been dealing with some offline stuff so I’m taking some time to do some self-care. I’m still following a handful of people’s tumblrs on rss, thanks for everyone’s kind and funny words.
also lol @ that tag. ‘Tankie’ is meant to be an insult aimed at supporters of the Soviet Union who were in favour of the suppression of the 1956 Hungarian revolution, and the Prague Spring in 1968 (i.e. they were in favour of “sending in the tanks”, hence “tankie”). More generally, a tankie is a supporter of the Brezhnev Doctrine. They are, as far as I know, something of a minority among supporters of the USSR. In Mal’s words, they adopted the name for themselves because “it sounds cool”.
